What each check shows you.
The three numbers that decide whether a keyword is worth writing for.
Difficulty, 0 to 100
How hard it is to reach Google's first page, based on the strength of the pages already there.
Monthly searches
How many people search it each month in the country you pick.
Search intent
Whether searchers want to learn, compare or buy, so you write the page that matches.
How to use keyword difficulty
Under 30: go for it
Keywords with a low score can be won by a newer site with one thorough article that answers the search better than what ranks today.
30 to 60: plan for it
Winnable, but expect to need a strong article, internal links from related posts and a few links from other sites.
Over 60: go around it
These terms are held by strong domains. Target longer, more specific versions of the keyword first, then come back as your site grows.
Weigh it against volume and intent
A keyword with 200 searches and buying intent can be worth more than one with 20,000 and none. Difficulty tells you the cost; volume and intent tell you the return.
